Twelve-year-old Eya grows up in a Tunisian Muslim family in Brussels, closely bonded to her older brother Younès and his circle of friends, who treat her as one of their own. When Younès dies suddenly, her world is shaken. As her community gathers around the family, Eya experiences both shared solidarity and private silence in grief. Through creativity, faith, and her evolving connection with her brother’s friends, she slowly finds her own way forward.
ಬ್ರಸೆಲ್ಸ್ನ ಟುನೀಶಿಯನ್ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಕುಟುಂಬವೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ವರ್ಷದ ಹುಡುಗಿ ಎಯಾ, ತನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣ ಯೂನೆಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರ ಬಳಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಿಕಟ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಆ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮವರಲ್ಲೊಬ್ಬಳೆಂಬಂತೆ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಯೂನೆಸ್ ಅನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದಿದಾಗ, ಎಯಾಳ ಪ್ರಪಂಚವೇ ನಡುಗಿಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವಳ ಸಮುದಾಯವು ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಬೆಂಬಲಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಂತಾಗ, ಎಯಾ ಈ ದುಃಖದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತು ಖಾಸಗಿ ಮೌನ ಎರಡನ್ನೂ ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆ, ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿಕಸನಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯದ ಮೂಲಕ, ಅವಳು ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಜೀವನದ ಮುಂದಿನ ಹಾದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾಳೆ.

Maja Ajmia Yde Zellama (b. 1994) is a Tunisian-Danish filmmaker born and raised in Brussels. A graduate of the LUCA School of Arts, she explores themes of identity and representation in her work. Alongside filmmaking, she is deeply involved in Brussels’ socio-cultural scene and is the co-founder and president of ASBL Bledarte, an organization that supports young migrants through art and culture. TÊTES BRÛLÉES is her debut feature film.
