A janitor of the Municipality of Athens, determined to give his six-year-old son the future he himself was denied, enrolls him in a private school. But his chase of the “Greek dream” turns into a tragicomic spiral of conflicts, leading to a bitter revelation: perhaps his illusions were all he truly had.
ಅಥೆನ್ಸ್ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪೌರಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ, ತಾನು ಪಡೆಯಲಾಗದ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಆರು ವರ್ಷದ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ದೃಢಸಂಕಲ್ಪದಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಖಾಸಗಿ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ “ಗ್ರೀಕ್ ಕನಸಿನ” ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟುವ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವು ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ದುರಂತದ ಸಂಘರ್ಷಗಳ ಚಕ್ರವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿ, ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಕಹಿಯಾದ ಅರಿವಿನ ಎದುರು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಬಹುಶಃ ಅವನ ಬಳಿ ಇದ್ದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನ ಭ್ರಮೆಗಳೇ ಆಗಿರಬಹುದು.

Tasos Gerakinis is a Greek director, screenwriter and producer whose background includes work across short and feature film productions. His early career was shaped through a series of short films including THE CRISIS (2002), OUT OF SCHEDULE (2004), and CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME (2008), which helped define his interest in character-driven storytelling. His filmography includes his feature debut, A SIMPLE MAN (2020). ROOSTER is his second feature film.
