"Woman: Shared Sensibilities, A Collective Voice for Equality"
Anand, a 30 year old city dweller is compelled to spend a 10 days in mourning for his father's death in the rugged countryside of western India. Anand tenderly bonds with a local farmer who is profusely trying to stay unmarried. As the days pass, their intimacy blooms emotionally and physically. by the end of mourning period when he has to return back to his dailyhood, will their burgeoning bond survive beyond the days that has been spent together. Sabar Bonda explores the delicate bonds that develop under duress and the future of it.
ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಭಾರತದ ಕುಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಸಾವಿನ ಶೋಕಾಚರಣೆಗೆ ಹತ್ತು ದಿನ ಕಳೆಯಬೇಕಾದ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯತೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾದ ಮೂವತ್ತನೇ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ನಗರವಾಸಿ ಆನಂದನ ಕಥೆಯಿದು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ವಿವಾಹವಾಗದೆ ಉಳಿಯಲು ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ರೈತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಆಪ್ತತೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ದಿನಗಳು ಸಾಗಿದಂತೆ ಅವರ ನಡುವಿನ ಬಂಧನ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ದೈಹಿಕವಾಗಿ ಗಾಢಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಶೋಕಾವಧಿ ಮುಗಿದು ಆನಂದ ಮರಳಬೇಕಾದ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಈ ಹತ್ತು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಳಿದ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯಬಹುದೇ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಎದುರಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಬರ್ ಬೊಂಡಾ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದ ನಡುವೆ ಮೂಡುವ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವುಗಳ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Rohan Parashuram Kanawade is a self made filmmaker raised in a Mumbai's slum by a chauffeur father and homemaker mother. Transitioning from interior design to filmmaking, his short films have screened globally. His debut feature, Sabar Bonda, was developed at the Venice Biennale College Cinema 2022 2023 and participated in platforms such as Film Bazaar, Venice Gap Financing Market, and Goes to Cannes. His short films include U USHACHA, KHIDKEE, SUNDAR, and EKTYA BHINTI.
