Under the command of the colorful, war-loving Italian author Gabriele D'Annunzio, a group of about three hundred men stormed the Northern Adriatic port town of Fiume, which is now Rijeka (Croatia), on September 12, 1919, with the intention of annexing the city to Italy. His official photography crew took almost 10,000 pictures during what is considered one of the most strange militant sieges in history over the course of the following 16 months.
1919ರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 12ರಂದು, ಯುದ್ಧಪ್ರಿಯ ಮತ್ತು ವೈಚಿತ್ರ್ಯಮಯ ಇಟಾಲಿಯನ್ ಲೇಖಕ ಗೇಬ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ ಡಿ’ಅನ್ನುಂಜಿಯೊ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸುಮಾರು ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಜನರ ಗುಂಪೊಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಆದ್ರಿಯಾಟಿಕ್ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಬಂದರು ನಗರವಾದ ಫ್ಯೂಮ್ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿತು. ಇಂದಿನ ಕ್ರೊಯೇಷಿಯಾದ ರಿಯೇಕಾ ಎಂದೇ ಪರಿಚಿತವಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ನಗರವನ್ನು ಇಟಲಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸುವುದೇ ಅವರ ಉದ್ದೇಶವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಮುಂದಿನ 16 ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ಸಶಸ್ತ್ರ ಆಕ್ರಮಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದರ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಡಿ’ಅನ್ನುಂಜಿಯೊ ಅವರ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಾಹಕರ ತಂಡವು ಸುಮಾರು ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಛಾಯಾಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿತು. ಆ ದಾಖಲೆಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧಾರವಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಈ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರವು ಯುರೋಪಿನ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿನ ಈ ಅಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಮರುನಿರ್ಮಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Igor Bezinović (b. 1983, Rijeka, Croatia) received degrees in philosophy, sociology, and comparative literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, and in film directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. His films include BLOKADA/THE BLOCKADE (2012), which won the Oktavijan Prize for Best Croatian Documentary at the Days of Croatian FF, and KRATKI IZLET/A BRIEF EXCURSION (2017), which won the Big Golden Arena Prize for Best Croatian Feature Film at the Pula Festival. FIUME O MORTE! is his most recent film.
