Toni, a 15-year-old Roma boy, lives in the largest illegal settlement in Europe, on the outskirts of Madrid. Proud to belong to his family of scrap metal dealers, he follows his grandfather everywhere. But as demolitions move closer and closer to their plot, and his grandfather is willing to do anything to stay, Toni will have to choose what to let go and what to sacrifice. This is the premise of the film SLEEPLESS CITY.
ಮ್ಯಾಡ್ರಿಡ್ನ ಹೊರವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯೂರೋಪಿನ ಅತಿದೊಡ್ಡ ಅಕ್ರಮ ವಸತಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ 15 ವರ್ಷದ ರೋಮಾ ಹುಡುಗ ಟೋನಿ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಸ್ಕ್ರಾಪ್ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಮಾಡುವ ತನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಪಡುವ ಅವನು, ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ತನ್ನ ಅಜ್ಜನನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಮನೆಗಳ ನೆಲಸಮ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಹತ್ತಿರವಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಂತೆ, ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ನೆಲವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ತನ್ನಜ್ಜ ಏನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಿದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವಾಗ, ಟೋನಿ ಏನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಏನನ್ನು ತ್ಯಾಗ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಕಠಿಣ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Guillermo Galoe (b. 1985) is a filmmaker born in Madrid, Spain. His first work FRÁGIL EQUILIBRIO (2016) won the Goya for Best Documentary Feature after premiering at IDFA. His short AUNQUE ES DE NOCHE (2023) premiered in the Official Selection at Cannes, won the Goya for Best Short Fiction and was selected for the César Awards in 2025. The same year he premiered AS GAIVOTAS CORTAM O CEU at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes. He received the Princess of Girona Award in 2020. SLEEPLESS CITY is his first feature.
